The University of New Mexico has launched a search for the next Director of the Center for Advanced Research Computing (CARC), an internationally recognized center supporting high-performance computing, data-intensive research, machine learning, and interdisciplinary computational science across campus.
The CARC Director will serve as the strategic and operational leader for the center, guiding its mission to support research excellence, educational initiatives, and collaborative partnerships across the University. The Director will report directly to the Vice President for Research and will hold an open full-time faculty or staff rank, depending on the candidate’s academic and professional background.
CARC provides advanced computing resources to the entire UNM research community, including GPU-enabled clusters, high-performance storage systems, high-speed networking infrastructure, and a dedicated research data center. The center supports research and education across the School of Engineering, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Fine Arts, UNM Health Sciences Center, and partners closely with Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories.
